Patrick is a Kevlar founder and director who brings valuable leadership as a creative visionary providing economic and market analysis to the firm. Prior to Kevlar, he served as co-lead or lead negotiator in $800M of equity investments in various ventures, that include oil & gas, healthcare, and commercial real estate since 2013. After college, Patrick began his career in sales with a regional industrial contractor taking market share from larger, incumbent players in the timber industry. He built a portfolio of new projects sold to Manville Products, Willamette Industries and International Paper which sustained the contractor’s operations and decades of growth.
Patrick was recruited to join Northwestern Mutual Financial Network where he quickly became proficient in estate planning and wealth management. Three years later, a telecom startup company recruited Patrick and the startup grew from $400,000 to $22M in three years and was acquired by WorldCom, Jackson MS. During his three-year tenure he was in the President’s Club as a top sales leader. In January 1990 launched Win Corporation, his first business endeavor with two older mentors as a national telecom brokerage firm for AT&T that was the national sales leader in 1990.
Patrick launched Unrivaled Advisors in April 1991 as a client focused fiduciary delivering fiscal clarity to companies taking market share from big accounting and tech firms. Unrivaled captured the NW Florida tourism market of Destin, Seaside and Seagrove Beach serving the market makers – Sandestin Resort, Abbott Realty, Newman Dailey Resorts. The roster of clients included Johnson Controls, Methodist Le Bohneur Healthcare, Falcon Cable TV (Los Angeles), Searles Valley Minerals, Kean Miller Law Firm, Rush Foundation Hospital, Office of Group Benefits, University Hospital, BluPeak Credit Union, Valley Strong Credit Union, EFCU Financial and Reunion Golf Community.
In January 2013, Patrick launched The Venture Foundry as a startup incubation platform that served 30+ entrepreneurs. Startups included Yellow Jacket, the world’s first smartphone defense case (2013) with $85M of contracted annual sales revenue in year five, as well as Reliq Health, an early telehealth platform based in Ontario Canada (2016) whose market cap grew to $300M. Patrick’s Q4 2016 and Q1 2017 launch of McAllen TX as the USA market partner gave the Reliq directors 48,000 new patients, a clear path to economic viability. Reliq’s stock and market cap rose by 2,200% directly because of his Venture Foundry team. He declined a director’s role in June 2016 in Reliq Health. In 2018, he took the pro-bono role of venture advisor to Superstratum Labs, a Los Angeles CA mycotoxins remediation company after contributing leadership to the acquisition of the underlying intellectual property which is a space age polymer. This technology resolves critical building related illnesses and remediates living spaces.
